God holds the ocean in His hand.
There is a depth to everyone’s soul. Unreachable areas that only God can see. As we go deeper into the things of God, he reveals more of the depths of our hearts, our core identity, dreams and visions. There is a lot of darkness in the depths, but as God goes deeper He brings His light into the cracks and crevices.
The deer is thirsty. It pants for the brook of life and love. The brook is shallow, it is the surface of the soul. God’s being is only known by the surface, but that is enough to restore and quench the thirst.
In this world there is a large ocean blanketing 71% of the surface of the earth. The majority of the world is water, God’s ocean. Less than five percent of the ocean is explored, only the surface, only the brook.
The waves and billows go over us, washing us. The noisy waterfall is soothing to the soul. The unknown becomes known.
He holds the ocean in His hand. All of the vast waters in His palm. What seems so big to us is so small to Him. He has complete control over the waters.
“Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterfalls, all your waves and billows have gone over me.”
